Scotland-based engineering firm PETEX, has renewed its $6.5 million software donation to Mississippi State University. The donation benefits MSU’s Department of Geosciences and the Swalm School of Chemical Engineering by equipping students with industry-standard tools as part of their academic curriculum.

For geosciences, the donation includes the MOVE suite, which features advanced tools for 2D and 3D Kinematic Modeling, Geomechanical and Fracture Modeling, Fault Analysis, Stress Analysis, and integrations with platforms such as Petrel, OpenWorks and GST.

“PETEX’s sustained commitment ensures our students are prepared to excel in their fields with hands-on experience using the same tools they’ll encounter in their careers,” said John Rodgers, head of MSU’s Department of Geosciences. “This software gives our students a competitive edge on future careers in oil and gas.”
