Jamie Dyer

Dr. Jamie Dyer is a Professor of Meteorology and Climatology in the Department of Geosciences as well as the Interim Dean of Interdisciplinary Studies at Mississippi State University. In the latter role he works to develop academic programs that cross departmental and college boundaries to provide innovative degree pathways that meet the dynamic requirements of the modern workforce. Dr. Dyer is also the Associate Director of the Northern Gulf Institute (NGI), a NOAA Cooperative Institute, where he helps guide research focused on weather, water, and climate applications across the Southeast US.

Dr. Dyer's primary contribution is to the climate modeling theme, where he works with fellow project members to help produce downscaled climate simulations across the Mississippi Delta. He also helped with the setup and deployment of a weather station in Greenwood, Mississippi to provide observational data for verification of the climate simulations.
